One more new house, built by Army troops for a needy family in Jaffna with sponsorship, extended by the reputed donor, Mr Kumara Weerasooriya and his team of philanthropists was vested in Ms Ganeshamurthi Nilajini at Karaveddi, Jaffna on Monday (20) along with a stock of household appliances.
The house construction project in progress in the peninsula on an initiative of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) in the past few days and months alone has built or opened or laid cornerstones for the benefit of needy civilians in the peninsula on a suggestion, made by Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna.
4 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops under the 551 Brigade under the supervision of Major General Sampath Kotuwegedara, General Officer Commanding, 55 Division completed the construction at Karaveddi.
The house-warming ceremony was attended by the General Officer Commanding, 55 Division, Commander, 551 Brigade, Senior Officers, Divisional Secretary - Karaweddy, troops and well-wishers.
In the meantime, the same group of donors took part in another foundation-laying ceremony for construction of one more new house to Mrs Kenistiya Sudakar at Alwai, Jaffna, a needy woman with her family members on Monday (20).
