Lieutenant Colonel D.K.D Vithanage RSP assumed duties as the Contingent Commander of 15th Sri Lanka Force Protection Company (FPC) in UNIFIL on 05 April 2024 at Sri Base Camp in Naqoura.
The newly appointed Contingent Commander placed his signature on a formal document after a brief religious observance as a symbolic gesture of taking over the command. All Officers and Other Ranks of the contingent extended warm wishes to the newly appointed Contingent Commander for his future endeavors.
The Sri Lankan FPC is tasked with providing security to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) Headquarters in Naqoura, managing security and escort duties for VIPs, and controlling all movements through the camp gates. The contingent comprises 125 Army personnel, including 11 Officers and 114 Other Ranks.
