Contingency Plans Ahead of Monsoon Rains Discussed in Kilinochchi

To review contingency plans in the event of any flood catastrophes, mitigattion measures and relief roles during the forthcoming monsoon rains, a meeting with Disaster Management Centre officials and all relevant stakeholders on the guidelines given by Major General Samapth Kotuwegoda, Commander, Security Forces - Killinochchi, had one more round of discussions with field Commanders under the guidance of the Major General Senerathyapa, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division on Wednesday (19) at the 571 Infantry Brigade HQ.

Emphasizing the significance of implementing the proactive mitigation measures while discussing the progress of the field projects and works, field commanders of the 57 Infantry Division discussed contingency and mitigation plans, prevention from illegal activities, etc with special focus on forthcoming rains.
