Construction Progress at Panagoda Sports Complex &;amp; SLLI Headquarters Reviewed


Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army on Monday (8) paid an unannounced visit to the Panagoda new Sports Complex under construction and the Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Headquarters, receiving a face-lift.

During his sojourn at the upcoming new Sports Complex, the Commander made inquiries as regards different construction phases and about the welfare of engineer troops, engaged in erection work on the site.

He also unexpectedly went to see the kitchen and available dining facilities of those Army tradesmen, responsible for construction of the new Sports Complex at Panagoda. On the same occasion, he shared a couple of thoughts with the troops and inquired into their well-being.

Soon after that, the Commander reviewed the progress of construction work being carried out at his own SLLI Regimental Headquarters, Panagoda.

Together with Major General Amal Karunasekara, Military Secretary and the SLLI Centre Commandant, the visiting Commander inspected the progress of the SLLI war memorial and the SLLI Headquarters complex, now under construction.

Lieutenant General Ratnayake closely reviewed the ongoing construction work and inquired into different aspects of its planning and implementation.
