Major General Ubaya Medawela, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ - C), laid the foundation stone for construction of the proposed 12 Division Headquarters at Hambantota on Friday (21) at the invitation of the 12 Division General Officer Commanding.
At the auspicious minute struck, Brigadier N. D. Dharmaratne, General Officer Commanding, 12 Division, cut the first sod before Major General Medawela, laid the cornerstone for the construction as the clock struck 10.23 a.m. amidst religious blessings.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks serving the 12 Division took part in the brief ceremony.
