Considering Emergency Needs, Lady Gifts Her Pet Dogs for Explosive Detection Training

Impressed with the roles, being played by sniffing dogs in the Army for detection of explosives and drugs, Dr Shiru Wijemanna, a lecturer in the City & Guild International and International Open University through the coordination of Major General (Rtd) D.P.M.T Ubayawardena gifted the 14 Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Regiment of Sri Lanka Engineers (SLE) with five German Shepherd canines to be used in times of emergencies after training.

Those five German Shepard dogs of a single family, including parent dogs in the age of two years and others of six months in age were handed over to the Commander Engineer Brigade, Brigadier A.N Amarasekara after inviting him to her residence at Narahenpita on Friday (26). Those dogs are to be trained in the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Squadron of the SLE within a few weeks before they are tasked with specific roles.

Sri Lanka Army while developing the sniffing capability possessed by the dogs has so far trained a number of sniffing dogs for mine detection, drug and explosive sniffing, etc and is tasked with deploying more and more dogs for security purposes as and when necessary in view of security developments. The donor gifting those her children-like pets to the Army maintained that the national emergency of the country should be prioritized and given all the support possible as dogs have proved on many occasions that they are exclusively capable of contributing to this sphere of security in an effective manner.

Major General (Rtd) D.P.M.T Ubayawardena, Commanding Officer, 14 CBRN Regiment SLE Major R.D.S Wijetunge SLE and the Veterinary surgeon of the Sri Lanka Army, Major K.S Thalagala of Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps were present to receive those dogs. jordan release date | plain white nike air force ones women high top Colorways, Release Dates, Price , Gov
