Commitment of Senior Chinese Officers to SLMA New Auditorium Construction Hailed & Appreciated

Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, Commander of the Army on Friday (08) during a meeting with a five-member high-ranking Chinese military officers, representative of the workforce, engaged in the ongoing China-gifted construction project of the new auditorium complex at Diyatalawa Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA), received an update on it and appreciated the Chinese contribution to the growth of the SLMA.

The cordial meet took place at the Commander’s office, led by Senior Colonel Chen Jie, Chief of the Construction Management Delegation and Senior Colonel Gen Hong, Deputy Chief of the Construction Management Delegation who briefed the Commander, covering all aspects of the infrastructure and technicalities after the project was launched on 21 October 2014 as a gift from the Chinese Army.

Lt General De Silva patiently listened to their presentations and inquired into the status quo regarding the 800-seating capacity, audio-visual facilities, proposed architectural alterations, time frames for completion of the project, etc. He also expressed his happiness over the efficiency of the Chinese constructors and their cooperation with other local contributing agents.

Towards the culmination of the discussion, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, highly appreciative of their valuable dedication and commitment to the project, awarded letters of appreciation to them along with symbolic mementos of goodwill and cooperation.

Colonel Keerthi Ranasinghe, Project Management Officer, representing local interests in the project was also present during the cordial meet at the Commander’s office.
