The fallen War Heroes of the Indian Peace Keeping Force (IPKF) during operations against LTTE terrorists from 1987 to 1990 in Sri Lanka were commemorated and their sacrifices were remembered at the IPKF Monument in Palaly. This commemoration took place in parallel to the celebration of the Republic Day of India on 26 January 2024. The event was organized by the Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna in collaboration with the Office of Consulate General of India to Sri Lanka in Jaffna.
During the brief and solemn ceremony, the Consulate General of India to Sri Lanka in Jaffna, Mr. Shri Raakesh Natraj and the Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna, Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, paid tribute to the memory of the fallen IPKF War Heroes by placing floral wreaths at the IPKF Monument.
Senior Officers, Officers, Officials of the Consulate General of India to Sri Lanka and Other Ranks participated in the ceremony.
