Just 02 months after the opening of the New Army Hospital at Narahenpita, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army made a surprise visit on Tuesday (15) evening to the hospital complex with a view to receiving a firsthand assessment of its administrative function.
On arrival at the hospital premises, the Commander was received by Major General Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Director General Army Health Services Afterwards the Commander spoke to all members of the Medical practitioners who are attached to the New Hospital. During his meeting with those Medical Officers, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake emphasized the need to maintain highest levels of discipline and dedicated service of highest quality. He also appealed them to be aware of the services being rendered by Army personnel serving in remote areas away from Colombo who are regularly referred to Narahenpita for better treatment.
Major General Prasad Samarasinghe, Chief of Staff, Major General E. M. M. Ambanpola, Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Adjutant General, Major General Sumedha Perera, Director General General Staff, Major General Amal Karunasekara, Military Secretary and few more senior officers were associated with the visit.
