Commander Speaks to 7 SLLI Officers &;amp; Other Ranks

Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army soon after the programmes at national level in Jaffna were completed or inaugurated, headed by HE the President, took time off on Wednesday (15) and inspected the 7 Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment (SLLI) Headquarters at Kanagapuram, Jaffna.

In conformity with military formalities, a drive-past Guard Turnout, presented to the visiting Commander at the entrance to the 7 SLLI, saluted the visiting Commander before he was warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel M.P.S.P Kulasekara, Commanding Officer (CO), 7 SLLI.

Afterwards, the Commander went round the premises and inspected the 7 SLLI Headquarters’ administrative building and added memory by signing the visitors’ book. This was the first time a Commander of the Army, visited this unit after it was established in 1992.

Meanwhile, the Commander also visited the 7 SLLI holiday bungalow, named ‘Thal Kedella’ and left his signature in the visitors’ book at the new bungalow. The Commander before his exit, had a chat with all the officers and other ranks serving the unit.
