Commander SFHQ-MLT Make Formal Visits to Formations


Major General P.U.S Vithanage, the newly-appointed Commander, Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) undertook a few visits to the SFHQ-MLT Forward Maintenance Area (FMA), 59 and 68 Divisions during Friday (12) and Saturday (13) for the first time upon his assumption of duties as the Commander SFHQ-MLT.

Major General P.U.S Vithanage, Commander SFHQ-MLT first visited the 59 and 68 Division Headquarters where he was warmly received by General Officers Commanding of  59 and 68 Divisions on arrival at the premises.

Mullaittivu Commander on his arrival, in accordance with military formalities reviewed the Guard Turnouts at the entrances to the Divisional Headquarters premises accorded by 19 and 7 Gemunu Watch troops of the SFHQ-MLT in separate locations.

Major General P.U.S Vithanage addressed Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, officers and other ranks at respective Division Headquarters premises.  Moreover, he planted tree saplings to mark his maiden itinerary at divisional premises.

Besides, Mullaittivu Commander took part in an all rank tea party at the 68 Division premises.

Afterwards, Major General P.U.S Vithanage made a trip to the FMA of the SFHQ-MLT on Monday (15). Commander, FMA warmly received the new Commander on arrival. 6 Sri Lanka Army Service Corps troops presented a Guard Turnout and saluted the visiting Commander.

After addressing officers and troops at the FMA, the Commander planted a tree sapling to add memories to his visit to the FMA premises upon assumption of duties.

As the final leg of the visit, Major General Vithanage stopped over at the Mullaittivu Army Base Hospital to visit troops who are receiving treatment there. After sharing views, the Commander gave away some gifts to the inmates receiving treatment.
