Commander, SF-West Makes First Official Visit to 61 Infantry Division

The Commander, Security Forces - West (SF-West), Major General S.W.M. Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, made his first official visit to 61 Infantry Division and its under command Brigades and Battalions on Monday (19 Feb).

The visiting Commander was honored with a Guard Turnout at the 61 Infantry Division and was warmly welcomed by the General Officer Commanding, 61 Infantry Division, Major General R.A.J.N Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc as well as Commanders of the respective Brigades, Commanding Officers of respective battalions.

Throughout the visit, the Commander, SF-West engaged in detailed briefings regarding the role, tasks, and current operational status of the respective Division, Brigades and Battalions, led by the General Officer Commanding, Commanders of respective Brigades and Commanding Officers of respective battalions. He further extended his visit to interact with personnel at the 612 Infantry Brigade and 613 Infantry Brigade, addressing troops at each location.

The General Officer Commanding, 61 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were also present during the visit.
