In order to receive ground level updates as regards the construction site of the proposed new Battalion Training School (BTS) of the Security Force Headquarters-West (SFHQ-West), Major General D.M.K.D.B. Pussella RWP RSP, Commander, Security Forces -West undertook a field visit to the Panaluwa Firing Range of the Army on Wednesday (12 July) along with several Officers.
During the visit, he closely inspected the earmarked site for the new Battalion Training School where the 15 Drone Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery is located, adjacent to the Firing Range.
The West Commander paid close attention to several key factors pertaining to the establishment of the Battalion Training School with special focus on training grounds, administrative buildings, security of the area, accessibility and accommodation facilities and evaluated the possibility of using some of the remaining buildings and infrastructure for the purpose. He also emphasized the importance of effective coordination and cooperation between ground troops and different branches of the Security Forces Headquarters -West for making the project a success.
The Commander of the Security Forces-West was accompanied by the Deputy General Officer Commanding of the 14th Infantry Division, Several Staff Officers and Senior Officers of the SFHQ-West during the day’s inspection visit.
