The Commander of Security Forces - Wanni (SF-Wanni), Major General J.P.C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, visited the 59 Infantry Division and its under-command Brigades on 01 July 2024.
The General Officer Commanding, 59 Infantry Division, Major General W.M.P.M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, Staff Officers, Brigade Commanders, and Commanding Officers extended a warm welcome to the Commander, SF-Wanni upon his arrival.
The Deputy General Officer Commanding delivered the welcome speech. Following this, the Commander of SF-Wanni addressed the troops, highlighting the importance of maintaining peace and security while upholding the Army's standards through training and discipline. Subsequently, the General Officer Commanding of the 59 Infantry Division presented a memento to the Commander, SF-Wanni, commemorating his first official visit to the 59 Infantry Division.
Next, Senior Staff Officers of the Division conducted a comprehensive briefing on the roles and tasks of the Division. Following the briefing, the Commander, SF-Wanni, posed for a group photograph. Afterward, the visiting Commander proceeded to visit the 591 and 593 Infantry Brigades.
