Commander, SF-East Conducts Courtesy Visits in Batticaloa

The Commander, Security Forces - East (SF-East), Major General S.A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc, paid courtesy visits to several key leadership roles in Batticaloa on 13 May 2024, after assuming his duties in the new appointment.

The proceedings commenced with a visit to Al Aqsa Grand Jumma Masjid, a Muslim mosque in Kattankudy. During the visit, he interacted with representatives of the Muslim community and attentively listened to their concerns.

Thereafter, the Commander, SF-East met the Government Agent at the District Secretariat Office, Batticaloa. On his arrival, Mrs. J.J Muralidaran warmly welcomed the Commander, SF-East, and had a cordial interaction about the present status of civil-military coordination.

Afterwards, he visited the Bishop's house in Batticola and met Rt Rev. Joseph Ponniah, Bishop of the Church of Batticaloa, where the Bishop invoked blessings upon the Commander, SF-East, wishing him strength and success for his future endeavours.

Culminating the day’s program, Major General S.A Kulatunge RWP RSP VSV USP psc visited Senior DIG Ajith Rohana at the Senior Deputy Inspector General's office in Batticaloa. During the discussion, matters related to security and the importance of effective coordination between the Army and Police were discussed.

Brigadier K.M.C.S Kumarasinghe, Commander of the 243 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers and Officers participated in the visit.
