Commander SF-East Addresses Troops in the FMA - East

Major General Channa Weerasuriya, Commander Security Forces-East on Wednesday (22) paid a visit to the Headquarters of the Forward Maintenance Area - East to be received by Major General Mahesh Abeyrathna, Commander FMA-East.

He first arrived at the Headquarters 3 Battalion of Engineer Service Regiment where he was extended a warm welcome by the Commanding Officer, Major K. Hettiarachchi and was accorded a drive-pass Guard Turnout in accordance with military formalities.

Subsequently, the Commander SF-E addressed the troops gathered at the Infantry Training Centre Minneriya where he focused on the importance of training in different professional aspects of the career and maintenance of the highest standards of discipline. The Commander further requested all the Officers and Other Ranks to refrain from irregularities, malfunctions and wrong practices to ensure the reputation of the Army is uplifted.

Later, the newly-constructed Badminton Court at 3 Battalion of Engineer Service Regiment camp was vested in the troops during a simple ceremony.

Later, the day’s Chief Guest visited the 4 General Transport Squadron at Minneriya and planted a sapling adding memories. Finally, the visiting Commander SF (E) arrived at the Headquarters, 4 Battalion of Sri Lanka Army Service Corps and attended the formalities after being welcomed by the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel R. Piluppuarachchi.

Brigadier Administration and Quartering SFHQ-E, Brigadier Jagath Weerakoon also accompanied the East Commander during the visit.
