Major General A.H.L.G. Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West), conducted an official visit to the 572 Infantry Brigade on 24 October 2024.
The visit began with an inspection of a newly proposed land site for the potential relocation of the Brigade Headquarters.
Upon arrival, he was welcomed in a Guard Turnout. Subsequently, the Commander of the 572 Infantry Brigade provided a detailed briefing on the Brigade’s operational role.
The Commander later visited the 8 Gemunu Watch, where he addressed the troops on current issues, including Army cooperation with the Police and other agencies. He emphasized the need for military discipline, proactive planning, and readiness to support national security. The Commander also inspected the battalion's disaster relief equipment, highlighting the importance of preparedness for emergencies. The visit concluded by signing of the Visitors' Book.
