Commander Security Forces - Wanni Familiarizes with Field Formations

Major General Priyantha Perera, the recently-appointed Commander, Security Forces-Wanni visited the 56 Division and its under command Brigades and Battalions on Saturday (31) after he took office as the 21st Commander Security Forces of the Security Force HQ - Wanni.

The visiting Commander, SF-Wanni was honoured in a Guard Turnout at the HQ 56 Division entrance and was invited to plant a few saplings at the entrance to the camp premises. The General Officer Commanding, 56 Infantry Division, Major General Wasantha De Abrew presented a comprehensive account on operational deployment of troops, their role and tasks and other concerns to the new Wanni Commander.

His tour to the area covered the 562 Brigade HQ, Rehabilitation Center at Poonthottam, Quarantine Centers at Poonthottam, Pampemadu, Periyakadu, 15(V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 17 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment battalions.
