Major General J.P.C. Peiris RWP RSP ndc, Commander, Security Forces (Wanni), conducted an observation visit to flood affected areas in the 59 Infantry Division in Mullaitivu on 29 November 2024.
The purpose of the visit was to assess the progress of relief services and humanitarian assistance being provided by troops in collaboration with government officials.
During his visit, the Commander focused on the transportability of the Wadduvakal causeway, which had been obstructed due to adverse weather conditions. Additionally, he visited the IDP center established at the Government Tamil Mixed School in Kokkilai, where he inquired about the health and wellbeing of the villagers affected by the floods.
