Major General M K U P Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG upon assumption of duties as the Commander, Security Forces - East visited the Regional Ordnance Stores Complex (ROSC) at Punani, and the Rehabilitation Centre at Kandakadu during his itinerary associated with the visit to the 23 Infantry Division on Wednesday (Aug 16).
Firstly, the Commander, Security Forces - East visited the ROSC at Punani and the East Commander was warmly welcomed by Colonel B.A.S.S.D Bulathgama, the Commandant of the ROSC. Further, he received a briefing about the ROSC. Then, the Commander planted a mango sapling and posed for a group photograph with the staff at the ROSC. After a while, he looked around the camp premises of the complex with the Commandant. Before his departure from the complex, the Commander left a couple of thoughts and compliments in the ROSC visitors’ book.
Afterwards, he called at the Rehabilitation Centre at Kandakadu, the same day evening. Brigadier W.M.H.E Rathnayake WWV RWP RSP USP ndc, the Director at this Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre, welcomed the newly-appointed Commander, Security Forces - East. He also shared a few thoughts with the residents in the Centre. Brigadier K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP psc, General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, Divisional Staff Officers of 23 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks also participated in those visits.
