Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Army was invited to be the day’s special guest in Friday’s (4) ‘Araditha Amuththa’ (invited guest) radio programme of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) aired from 9.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m.
During the interactive chat-show, the Commander summed up his childhood, schooldays, sports achievements, and younger days’ recollections, experiences in cadetship period, enlistment to the Army, exceptional career progression and promotions, military life, battle experiences, unforgettable memories and episodes, setbacks and challenges, victories in battlefields, overseas (New York) UN assignments, diplomatic missions, future vision for the Army, enhancement of technical and professional knowledge among Army personnel to match with global advancement, vision for national security prospects, etc in addition to his passion for hobbies and music.
