Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army, on 08 October 2024, paid his last respects to late Colonel D.M.B.P.B Dissanayaka RSP USP of the Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) at Jayaratne VIP Parlour.
During his visit, the Commander of the Army interacted with the family members of the Senior Officer, extending his heartfelt condolences to them at their time of grief.
Late Colonel D.M.B.P.B Dissanayaka RSP USP of the Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) passed away on 07 October 2024 morning due to a brief illness.
Late Colonel D.M.B.P.B Dissanayaka RSP USP, enlisted in the Sri Lanka Army Regular Force with Intake 45 on 15 July 1996. Upon successful completion of basic military training at the Sri Lanka Military Academy, Diyatalawa, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and posted to the Sri Lanka Artillery on 20 June 1998. Throughout his career, he held various appointments and steadily elevated to subsequent ranks, ultimately reaching the rank of Colonel on 18 May 2024. He held the appointment of Colonel (Enlistment) of the Directorate of the Personnel Administration at the time of his demise.
