Commander, New Member of the National Sports Council

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage Commander of the Army has also been appointed as a member of the National Sports Council of the Ministry of Sports after a decision was taken by the government to re-appoint members to this key national Council, chaired by former veteran cricket captain, Mr. Arjuna Ranatunge.

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage Commander of the Army, was awarded the letter of appointment after inviting the new members to the National Sports Council office at the Torrington Avenue today (10).

The National Sports Council was appointed to advise the Minister of Sports on the policy issues of the sports field.
