Commander at New Defence Complex Speaks to Troops at Work


Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake Wednesday (22) morning, paid a visit to the new Defence Headquarters complex construction site at Pelawatte, Battaramulla.

Major General Udaya Nanayakkara, in charge of the worksite on behalf of the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development, gave a briefing to the Commander of the Army as regards its status quo and work yet to be completed.

During the Commander’s stay, he saw for himself how different tri-service headquarters were under construction with separate partitions, branches, etc. He also shared a couple of words on latest technologies, being used for erection of this modern pre-fabricated headquarters complex.

Lieutenant General Ratnayake before his exit from the venue did not forget to look into accommodation and other facilities, provided to Engineer troops working there.
