Commander Meets SFHQ-KLN Troops for the First Time


Military formalities suchlike the Guard Turn Out, Guard of Honour, Presentations, Troop Address, Tree Planting, Participation in All Rank Tea Table, etc at the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), marked the new Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake’s first formal visit to the SFHQ-KLN on Wednesday (16).
 
Major General Udaya Perera, Commander, SFHQ-KLN upon receipt of the Commander on arrival at the main entrance to the premises, ushered him to review the Guard Turn-Out and Guard of Honour, presented in the Commander’s honour at the SFHQ-KLN parade square.  

Major General Udaya Perera, afterwards presented a briefing on current SFHQ-KLN roles and tasks, outlining efforts, being undertaken for nation-building to the Chief Guest before a gathering of commanders of all formations and battalions of the SFHQ-KLN before a group photo plus a tree planting event immortalized the memory of the Commander’s visit to the place.
 
Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake during his address to the troops touched upon several areas of importance to all commanders and soldiers alike and stressed the need for all-time preparedness for any eventuality while adhering to strict discipline.
 
Next, he proceeded to the 66 Division Headquarters of the SFHQ-KLN and talked to the troops serving there.
 
The 66 Division stop-over was followed by the Commander’s visit to the 65 Division, 651 Brigade, 57 Division, 8 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment Headquarters and to the famous Kilinochchi Harmony Centre. He addressed the troops in respective Divisions and formations and called upon everyone to work harder to develop the country.
