Commander Meets New Archbishop

COMMANDER of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya called on the newly-appointed Archbishop Rt. Reverend Ranjith Malcom at his residence on Monday (14) evening and extended his greetings on the new appointment.

Commander during his interaction with the holy dignitary gave him an update on security developments in the north and east in the aftermath of eradication of LTTE terrorism. He also explained the arrangements in progress with regard to the resettlement of displaced people with the active support of the Army and the government authorities.

To signify his meeting with the religious dignitary, the Commander gifted him a special memento before his departure. 

The Archbishop wished good luck with the Army’s future endeavors, meant to restore peace and prosperity in Sri Lanka.

Major General G.P.R. de Silva was also associated with the Commander’s visit to the residence.
