Commander, Impressed with Findings of Wanni Research Teams

Two detailed case study researches carried out by two teams of Army officers on the conduct of affairs and the quality of working environment in the Army, came in for high commendation of  the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva when he visited the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni (SFHQ-W) on Thursday  (26).

Both independent case studies, carried out separately for two months by officer teams of the 213 Brigade and the 613 Brigade of the SFHQ-W, subsequent to a conceptual initiative of Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W after conducting individual interviews with random groups of soldiers, focus on a wide spectrum of issues, related to further enhancement of professional conduct of Army members.

Colonel H.M.W.K Herath, Commander, 213 Brigade and Colonel M.W.A. A Wijesuriya, Commander, 613 Brigade as Research Team Leaders, separately presented their findings in front of the visiting Commander of the Army and a representative gathering of about 100 senior officers, including Major General B. A. Perera, Director General General Staff and Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W.

Both teams of researchers were selected out of five teams who had earlier been assigned to do the same research survey on the same lines with the objective of choosing the most academically sound research papers for onward actions.

Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, impressed with the findings of both teams afterwards praised them for their efforts and assured them of all due attention on their concerns and recommendations, meant to create conducive working environments and raise qualitative professional standards in the organization.
