Commander Extends Best Wishes to Outgoing SLAF Chief

On the eve of his retirement from the service, Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala, the outgoing Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) paid a formal courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva Tuesday (13) at the Army Headquarters.

The courtesy visit saw the troops of Sri Lanka Artillery greeted him to a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour upon his arrival at the MoD ground premises in accordance with military traditions. Lieutenant Colonel Anil Somaweera, Commanding Officer, Headquarters Battalion at Army Headquarters welcomed him before he inspected the Guard Turnout.  

At the foyer to the Commander’s Secretariat, a warm welcome, accorded by the Commander of the Army, accepted him before he was introduced to the Principal Staff Officers in the organization.

During the subsequent meeting, both the Commander of the Army and the outgoing Sri Lanka Air Force Commander  exchanged pleasantries, recalled memories and shared a couple of views, reminiscing the close cooperation that has prevailed between both organizations as far as the country’s security is concerned.

Towards the end of the cordial meeting, the outgoing Air Force Chief, Air Marshal Gagan Bulathsinghala presented a memento to Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva. The move was reciprocated. The visiting Sri Lanka Air Force Commander also left a complimentary remark in the Visitors’ Book at the Commander’s office before he left the premises.
