Commander as Chief Guest Launches First e-Book of an Officer, Anthology of Lyrics & Poems

An Army Officer-produced first e-book ‘Meheyumaka Erambuma' & 'Mata Hithena Heti’, an anthology of lyrics and poems, compiled by Brigadier Laknath De Silva was launched into the formal pages of the ‘www.kdu.ac.lk’ website on Tuesday (22) evening during a brief ceremony, held at the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU) at the Department of Post Graduate Studies auditorium.

Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Commander of the Army as the Chief Guest for the occasion added dignity and importance to the landmark release of it into the cyber space for the first time in the country. The author also presented the maiden copy of the printed book to the day’s Chief Guest.

Soon after the day's Chief Guest launched the anthology, two of those soothing lyrics, ‘Ohoma Thamai Jeewithe’ and 'Nopeni Yannama Oba Giya' were sung by the popular songstress, Mrs Nirmala Ranathunge in the presence of the distinguished gathering for the occasion. The public have access to the anthology in the KDU website.

Organized by the Library and Development Centre of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, the event was attended by the Vice Chancellor, Kotelawala Defence University Air Vice Marshal Sagara Kotakadeniya, Senior KDU Officers, Officers, family members, well-wishers and the author's friends. latest jordans | Nike
