Commander Calls on New Secretary Defence

Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army on Monday (12) afternoon paid a courtesy call on the newly-appointed Secretary Defence, Mr Hemasiri Fernando at his office in the Ministry of Defence.

During the formal meeting, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake briefly enlightened Mr Fernando on the present day roles and tasks of the Army as well as its dedicated commitment towards reconciliation gestures in the North and East.
