Commander of the Army Visits Asgiriya Monastery to Receive Blessings

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, together with Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), paid a courtesy visit to the Asgiriya Monastery on 14th January 2025 in line with longstanding traditions. During this significant occasion, he had the esteemed privilege of meeting the Most Ven. Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Mahanayake Thero, the Most Ven. Mahanayaka Thero of the Asgiriya chapter of Siam Nikaya.

In a cordial meeting, the Most Ven. Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero invoked blessings upon the Commander of the Army, wishing him strength and wisdom to lead the nation’s military with integrity and dedication. Then the Army Chief expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Mahanayake Thero for the blessings and guidance.

Following this, the Commander of the Army also met Ven. Narampanawe Ananda Thero, Deputy Secretary of the Asgiriya Chapter, to further discuss matters of mutual interest and seek blessings.

The meritorious visit was attended by Senior Officers and Officers.
