Commander Addresses Issues of Retired Army Personnel


Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake Saturday (6) afternoon during a meeting with a group of 262 agitating retired partly disable Army personnel at the Army Headquarters, assured them  of the resolution of all pending issues and addressing of their grievances as early as possible in consultation with the Ministry of Defence and all other relevant authorities.

Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, on being informed of their planned resentful course of agitation, summoned them to the Headquarters and gave a patient hearing in the company of several relevant authorities, including Major General Mahinda Hathurusinghe, Adjutant General.

Concerns related to their disability pension percentage, alleged arrears of dues or payments, entitlement to pension, alleged irregularities in categorization of the nature of disability, etc were taken up during this meeting after the group's representatives placed their issues before the Commander.

Director Rehabilitation and a few other relevant authorities were there with the Commander of the Army.
