Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake paid a courtesy call on Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama, Commander of the Air Force at Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Headquarters Tuesday (17) morning.
This is the first formal visit the Commander of the Army, made to the SLAF Headquarters upon his assumption of duties on 1 August 2013 as the Commander of the Army. A Guard of Honour greeted the visiting Commander of the Army.
During their cordial meeting, both of them discussed matters of mutual interest and the Commander of the Army opined that the Air Force has continued to maintain high standards in all spheres of the Air Force as a sister service in the country all the time. The Air Force Chief introduced his senior officers to the visiting Commander at the same occasion. Towards the end of the meeting, they exchanged mementos as tokens of goodwill and continuing cooperation.
