Major General B.K.G.M.L Rodrigo RSP psc IG, Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force (SLAVF), visited the Volunteer Force Training School (VFTS) on 19 November 2024.
The Commandant was accorded a drive pass upon his arrival. To mark the occasion, he planted a sapling on the premises. Commandant of VFTS, presented a briefing on current training activities and potential developments.
During the visit, students from the Administrative Assistants’ Clerical Course shared their experiences through a documentary programme. The Commandant also distributed stationery to students of the Basic Information Technology Course and awarded National Vocational Qualification (NVQ4) certificates to participants of the Administrative Assistants’ Course.
Addressing all ranks, Commandant, SLAVF stressed the significance of VFTS in enhancing the skills and capabilities of the Sri Lanka Army. He also addressed Officers following the Officers Par Excellence Course, underlining the importance of leadership, integrity, and professionalism.
The visit concluded with an All Ranks tea and a tour of the camp. Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the event.
