Colonel T.D.P. Siriwardene psc assumed duties as the 34th Commandant of the Sri Lanka School of Military Engineering (SLSME) on 28 June 2024, in accordance with military traditions. Upon arrival, the Commandant was accorded a Guard Turnout and warmly welcomed by the Chief Instructor of SLSME at the SLSME Headquarters.
To mark the occasion, the Commandant planted a sapling. During his address, the Commandant highlighted the importance of professionalism in training, the proper handling of subordinates, and the development of SLSME infrastructure facilities.
The day’s proceedings concluded with a tea arrangement at the Sappers' Mess.
