The Sri Rahathankanda Hermitage celebrated Poson Festival from 21 - 23 June 2024. Major General U.K.D.D.P Udugama RWP RSP USP ndc psc, the Commandant of Army War College (AWC), inaugurated the event by illuminating the Weera Keppetipola Stupa of the temple and participated in the “Buddha Vandana” programme under the guidance of Venerable Elpitiye Sumanarathana Thero.
The festival included spiritual activities and traditional performances including Bathi Gee by students of the Sri Rahathankanda Hermitage Dhamma School. Coincide with the programme, AWC troops organized a 'Roti Dansela' for pilgrims. The three-day “Poson Zone” was jointly organised by the Dayaka Sabawa (Board of Lay Trustees) of the temple, together with the government institutions and society in Buttala.
