The 3rd Defence and Strategic Dialogue, organized by the Centre for China Analysis and Strategy (CCAS) in collaboration with the Department of Defence and Strategic Studies (DDSS) and the Centre for Advanced Strategic Studies (CASS) India, took place at Sant Dnyaneshwar Hall, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) in India on 18 and 19 March 2024.
Colonel M.B.B.N. Herath RSP, the Overlooking Director General and Acting Director (Research) of the Institute of National Security Studies in Sri Lanka and Director of Media at the Ministry of Defence, addressed the distinguished gathering. He highlighted Sri Lanka's awareness of India’s security concerns regarding regional security and geopolitical dynamics. He emphasized the President’s commitment to maintaining a non-aligned foreign policy while ensuring freedom of navigation and stated that Sri Lanka would remain impartial in global power rivalries.
The seminar was inaugurated by Indian Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan. A panel of eminent speakers shared their insights on various topics during the two-day sessions.
