Major General I.A.N.B Perera RWP USP ndu psc, the Military Secretary and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Engineer Services, paid a visit to the 14 (V) Engineer Services Regiment (ESR) on 04 July 2024.
Upon his arrival, the Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer of 14 (V) ESR and was then accorded a Guard Turnout by the troops of 14 (V) ESR.
Following this, the Commanding Officer gave a comprehensive briefing on the current operational and administrative commitments of the unit. Thereafter, a sapling was planted to mark his visit, and a group photograph was taken with the Officers of the unit.
Later, the Colonel Commandant was accompanied to the All Ranks tea and interaction session with the participants, followed by a troop address. During his address, he stressed the value of professionalism whilst preserving the highest standards of discipline throughout their career. The Colonel Commandant conducted an inspection of the camp compound, paying particular attention to the welfare facilities available to the soldiers.
At the end of the inspection, the Colonel Commandant left complimentary remarks in the Visitors’ Book. Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks participated in the event.
