Offer of alms to over 50 members of the Maha Sangha plus an all-night Pirith chanting ceremony invoked blessings on the future march-forward of the 62 Division Headquarters at Welioya when the troops got together to mark the third anniversary of the 62 Division.
During the ceremonies, monks-headed by Ven. Pirappanmaduwe Dayashila Thero of the historic Thonigala temple, transferred merits on fallen War Heroes as well as Welioya civilians who fell victim to LTTE terrorism.
A colourful pageant conducted the monks for the Pirith chanting with the participation of civilians and children in the area.
General Officer Commanding, 62 Division, senior officers and other ranks took part in the arrangement.
