Troops serving the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) on account of Poson organized a Bodhi Pooja meritorious act at SFHQ-MLT Muladeepa temple and a series of Dansel (free eating houses) through Divisions, Brigades and different Units.
Ven. Rankothgama Dhammathillaka Thero of Ethawetunawewa Temple conducted the Boodhi Pooja at Muladeepa Temple.
Major General Jagath Dias, Commanding officers in SFHQ-MLT area, officers and other rankers also took part in the arrangements.
Similarly, troops at 64 Division offered meals (Dansela) and refreshments at Oddusudan to members of the general public on Poson Full Moon Poya day.
Major General S.D.T Liyanage also participated in the occasion.
14 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) and 29 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops of the 641 Brigade meanwhile offered cool drinks to the people in Manalkandan area.
Brigade Commander, 641 Brigade, officers and other rankers of 641brigade took part in the programme.
Troops serving the 642 Brigade organized a cool drink ‘Dansela’ during the same evening at Oddusudan. Meanwhile, Brigade troops distributed stationeries, school bags and school uniforms for needy students in the area on the same day.
Similarly, 23 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) held a cool drink ‘Dansela’ to the general public at Paninindam area with the participation of Lieutenant Colonel K.M.R Abeywickrama, Commanding Officer (CO), 23 VIR with officers and other rankers of the 23 VIR.
Officers and other rankers of 16 Gajaba Regiment (GR) offered cool drinks to people at Thanduwan area with the participation of senior officers.
