Civil Sports Clubs in Jaffna Play Cricket & Futsal in Army-organized Tournament

With the prime intention of developing civil and military relationships and coordination, 51 Infantry Division troops of the Security Force HQ-Jaffna organised Cricket and Futsal tournaments among Jaffna civil sports clubs at the CIMIC Park in Kopay on Sunday (Nov 20) under the guidance of Major General Mahendra Fernando, General Officer Commanding, 51 Infantry Division.

The General Officer Commanding of 51 Infantry Division attended as the chief guest for the final encounter of the tournament along with Staff Officers and Other Ranks. A large number of civilians were present and cheered for their favourite teams during the tournament.

Towards the culmination of the tournament, the GOC addressed the gathering and assured to organize the next tournament on a larger scale. He also joined the distribution of certificates to the participating teams.
