The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) at Narahenpita felicitated Major General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Staff of the Army and held its awarding ceremony of certificates to CIPM graduates on Friday (24) at the CIPM Human Resource House.
At the outset, Mr Dhammika Fernando, President, CIPM welcomed the day’s Chief Guest, Major General Silva on arrival at the venue, together with several other executives of the CIPM. A few minutes later, he was invited to join the traditional oil lamp lighting before the proceedings got to a start.
Presenting a brief introduction on the day’s Chief Guest’s achievements, the CIPM announced the reasons behind the day’s felicitation soon after the welcome note was delivered by Mr Sarath Jayasinghe, Vice President, CIPM.
Afterwards, a special memento was presented to Major General Shavendra Silva, the day’s Chief Guest by Mr Dhammika Fernando in recognition of his service and commitment to the country.
