Chulipuram Civilian Gets Army-built New House with NHDA Funds

Troops of the Security Forces-Jaffna constructed one more new house for a deserving family at Chulipuram, Jaffna with financial support, granted by the National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) and handed over keys of the new house to the beneficiary, Mr Kadiran Govindasamy on Tuesday (13) during a simple ceremony, held amid Hindu religious rites and rituals.

16 Gemunu Watch troops contributed their technical expertise and skilled labour for this construction free of charge under the close supervision of the Commander, 513 Brigade. Major General Priyantha Perera, Commander Security Forces Jaffna graced the house-warming ceremony on Tuesday (13) as the Chief Guest ceremony and cut a ribbon, together with the beneficiary to enter the new house as the auspicious minute struck.

During the same house-warming ceremony, dry ration packs and essential household items, required for this newly-opened house were provided to the owner of the house by the Chief Guest and members of the Security Forces.

District Secretariat officials, NHDA representatives, General Officer Commanding 51 Division, Brigade Commanders of the 511,512,513 and 515 Brigades, Senior Officers, Government officials and troops of the Security Force HQ Jaffna participated in this ceremony following strict health guidelines.
