AS THE PRECURSOR to the forthcoming Army Day (October 10th), Christian fellowship in the Army held a special congregation to bless the Army and its 58th anniversary.
The special mass, organized by the Army Christian Fellowship was held at Christ Church, Galle Face Monday (8) evening with Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Sarath Fonseka as the Chief Guest.
Most Rev. Dr. Marius Perera, Auxiliary Bishop of Colombo on the invitation of the parish priest Rev. Joseph Sharvanandan conducted the commemoration and thanksgiving.
Chairman Army Christian Fellowship and Chief of Staff Major General Lawrence Fernando, Members of the Fellowship and a large number of Officers and Other Ranks attended the mass.
Several past Commanders also joined the mass.
