Chief of Staff Visits SLAC Units & Leaves Memories

The Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage visited the 4 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps Regiment Headquarters at Trincomalee on Monday (25).

He was invited to open the newly-built chalet for the Commanding Officer in the premises by unveiling a plaque before he left memories by planting a Mango sapling inside the premises and posing for a group photograph with Officers.

During his brief address to the troops, the Colonel Commandant emphasized the importance of promotion of virtues such as comradeship and professional uprightness of the Officers and men of the unit as unique Officers and Other Ranks. He also appreciated valour and commitment of 4 SLAC troops, particularly during combat operations. He also paid tribute to Officers and Other Ranks in the 4 SLAC.

Meanwhile, Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage made an official visit to the 6 SLAC Headquarters on the same day (25) and joined a symbolic tree planting and an all rank tea arrangement while adhering to health safety regulations to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage emphasized the qualities which the soldiers must inculcate and improve to keep the Regiment’s flag high and the qualities that must augment to achieve the eminence in their personal career.
