Chief of Staff Inquires into Well-being of ‘Ranaviru Sevana’

The inmates at Ragama ‘Ranaviru Sevana’ Wednesday (29) morning welcomed Major General Sathyapriya Liyanage, Chief of Staff of the Army when he, representing the Commander of the Army arrived there for a routine visit, intending to inquire into their well-being and needs, if any in the new year - 2020.

A physically-handicapped War Hero, together with the Commandant, Brigadier I.M.T.H Senarathna, Ragama Ranaviru Sevana and Director Rehabilitation Brigadier W.B.S.M Abeysekara welcomed the visiting Senior Officer and invited him to visit the Wards at this wellness resort where 118 disabled War Heroes are undergoing rehabilitation and recuperation.

Major General Liyanage as the Chief Guest gave away gift parcels to all the inmates and spent a couple of minutes with them talking to them. Some of the inmates recalled memories in the battlefields and shared a few thoughts with the day’s visiting Senior Officer.

Towards the end of the visit, Major General Liyanage had a brief meeting with senior administrators in the ‘Ranaviru Sevana’ and left a couple of complimentary remarks in the Visitors’ Book at the office.
