Chief of Staff Chairs BOM Meeting at SLMA

The Board of Management (BOM) meeting at the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) got underway on Monday (8 May), chaired by Major General C.D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu, Chief of Staff of the Army.

The opening statement during the meeting was delivered by the day’s chief guest, the Chief of Staff of the Army as the Chairman in accordance with Board formalities.

The Commandant, SLMA, Major General I.A.N.B perera RWP USP ndu psc cordially welcomed the Chairman and all members of the BOM. Subsequently, the Director, Directorate of Training, Brigadier D.K.S.K Dolage USP psc delivered a comprehensive briefing about the training mechanism of the Army.

Board members afterwards discussed general administrative and logistic matters, related to training and improvements of the SLMA. They also explored possibilities of finding solutions to the SLMA concerns and issues on long and short term basis.

Soon after the arrival of the Chief Guest, a Guard Turnout saluted him at the entrance to the SLMA. Afterwards, he paid floral tributes to fallen warriors at the SLMA monument in the premises.

After the BOM meeting, the Chief of Staff, together with Board members visited the SLMA Simulator Complex to see its progress.

Director General General Staff, Major General S.U.M.N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, Director, Research Concept and Doctrine, Major General G.W.A Senaviratne USP psc, Commandant, SLMA, Major General I.A.N.B perera RWP USP ndu psc, Director, Directorate of Training, Brigadier D.K.S.K Dolage USP psc, Colonel Budget & Finance (Officiating), Lieutenant Colnel S.M Munasinghe USP and the Commanding Officer, SLMA Officer Cadet Wing, Colonel E.W.R.S.B Ehelepola USP USACGSC participated in the BOM discussion.

Before his departure, the Chief of Staff made a complimentary note in the SLMA Visitors’ Book at the SLMA.
