Chief of Staff Attends BOM Conference at Diyatalawa SLMA

The periodic second conference of the Board of Management (BOM) at the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) in Diyatalawa, designed to review and evaluate SLMA administrative and training mechanism got underway on 22 September 2023 in accordance with stipulated Army procedures and regulations to achieve its objectives effectively.

The Chief of Staff, Major General W.A.S.S Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu, together with Director General General Staff, Commandant -SLMA, Director Training, Director Budget & Financial Management, Director Personnel Administration, Director Research Concept and Doctrine and Commanding Officer of the SLMA Officer Cadet Wing were there for the conference.

The Chief of Staff on arrival at the SLMA was greeted in a Guard Turnout at the main entrance before floral tributes were paid in honour of fallen warriors at the SLMA War Memorial.

The BOM conference that ensued focused on matters, related to general administrative and logistic disciplines and discussed best possible and viable solutions to overcome challenges. A group photograph with all BOM members afterwards added memories.

BOM members strolled through the camp premises too in order to see recent developments in the compound.

At the end of the day’s proceedings, the SLMA Commandant presented a memento to the Chief of Staff, Major General W.A.S.S Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu. The gesture was reciprocated and Major General W.A.S.S Wanasinghe RSP VSV USP ndu left a few notable compliments in the SLMA Visitors’ Book before his departure.
