The Director General Financial Management, Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, relinquished his duties as the Colonel Commandant, Corps of Engineer Services (CES) on 20 May 2024.
Upon his arrival at the Regimental Headquarters, the Outgoing Colonel Commandant was received by the Centre Commandant of CES and then he was accorded a guard turnout. Thereafter, the outgoing Colonel Commandant was saluted in a Guard of Honour. Next, he posed for a group photograph and planted a mango sapling, marking his tenure as the Colonel Commandant.
Thereafter, he officially relinquished the appointment of Colonel Commandant, CES in his office by signing an official document. Then, he addressed All Ranks. During the troops address, the outgoing Colonel Commandant recalled the achievements made by the Regiment during his tenure as Colonel Commandant and commended the hard work of all Officers and Other Ranks. He also visited the Warrant Officers' and Sergeants' Mess and interacted with them leaving his remarks in the visitors' book.
Later, a farewell dinner was hosted at the Officer' Mess.
Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks participated in the event.
