Alert to an imminent threat of landslides in Makaldeniya in Koslanda area in the Badulla District, troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Central took steps to relocate 149 civilians of threatened families in Ganesha Tamil School for their safety on Saturday (14 October).
Upon receipt of initial reports of this imminent disaster, Major General W.W.H.R.R.V.M.N.D.K.B Niyangoda RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces - Central promptly responded to the emergency and dispatched a team of Army troops to help relocation of those civilians.
